The Engineering Division issues and monitors work or activities within the public right-of-way (streets or public easements).  Right-of-Way permits are required for utility work, street work, hauling activities, house moving, parades or other activities that impact the street system. Grading and Drainage permits are required for construction of on-site grading and drainage systems.

The Engineering Division reviews commercial and residential site plans for building developments permitted by the Building Division. Land divisions (lot line adjustments, short plats and subdivisions) administered by the Planning Department are also reviewed by the Engineering Division.
