1776
The Seattle Musical Theatre will take you back to the summer of 1776 when this nation was ready to declare independence. The story follows our founding fathers John Adams, Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson as they attempt to convince the second Continental Congress to vote for independence. As described by the theatre, 1776 puts a human face on the pages of history as we see the men behind the icons: proud, frightened, uncertain, irritable, charming, and ultimately noble figures determined to do the right thing for a fledgling nation. All this, and apparently they could sing as well! (The Seattle Musical Theatre was formerly known as Civic Light Opera.)

The 5th Avenue Theatre presents this wonderful high kickin’ musical comedy. As described by the theatre, when Milly marries Adam Porter, she never dreamed she’d be in the wilds of the Oregon territory in charge of her six brothers-in-law. Milly soon whips her rough and tumble boys into shape, teaching them to be respectable gentlemen, worthy of brides of their own. The show is filled with dare devil dancin’ and rip roaring tunes like "Bless your Beautiful Hide," Goin’ Courtin," and "Wonderful, Wonderful Day." It’s a roof raising good time! This is a Saturday matinee.
