September 15th
Since the Spring of 2000, the

Schools partnering with us to offer exciting new options, this year
looks to be our best. Hundreds of teens have participated over the
last few years, so don’t miss out. Activity bus available for Tyee
students and other transportation is available on a limited basis.

Karate
Traditional karate is
a Japanese martial art. It is a lifetime activity that improves all aspects
of physical fitness, promotes cognitive development and emotional stability.
Karate improves self-image and self-control. Karate also teaches the value
of discipline and personal defense strategies. Karate’s foundation is in
self-defense not dueling or military engagement. Through training, students
become more aware of the world around them. This awareness allows the karate
practitioner to assess and avoid dangerous situations before physical
confrontation takes place.
Classes are divided into two
category’s, Beginners and Regular. Both classes are open to all age
groups. Parents that are interested are encouraged to train with their
children in the Beginner session. Adults wishing to start classes without
children can attend the Regular session.
Instructors: Skip Mathews, 3rd degree black belt and Thom Macfarlane,
3rd degree black belt

Snow Trips
|
Snow Trips
2008 was a great snow season
and our trips booked out early. We are picking up our boards and skis
and heading back up the mountain in ‘09. These trips make great
Christmas gifts for that picky teenager. We’ll even make you a
certificate that can be placed under the tree or in a stocking.
Contact the Teen Program starting in November to inquire about our
2009 Snow Tour Trips and to receive updated information. These trips
will be available to teens in 7th-12th grade. Space will be limited.
