Home Occupation 

If you have a home occupation, you are required to apply for a Certification of Zoning Compliance to determine whether your business meets the applicable zoning regulations. There is no separate fee for this review.

The applicant is required to submit a completed application along with a business license application. Both completed applications should be submitted to the Finance Department along with the business license fee.      View a Business License application packet.

Certification will be granted by staff if the home occupation meets with all of the criteria for approval.      View a Home Occupation application packet.

Special Home Occupation Permit (SHOP)

If most, but not all, the criteria for the Certification of Zoning Compliance are met and certification is denied, the business owner may request a Special Home Occupation Permit (SHOP). The application will then be considered by the Hearing Examiner for approval. Generally, no further application materials are required; however, there is an additional filing fee.    View a Special Home Occupation application packet.
