Human Services: The City of SeaTac contracts with area service providers to meet the human services needs of its residents. The funding is made available through 1.5 percent of the City's General Fund budget. The SeaTac Human Services Advisory Committee identifies the non-profit agencies that can best meet local service needs and makes recommendations to the City Council on funding priorities. Those priorities are based upon addressing the following needs:
The City of SeaTac allocates funds for the delivery of human services through a bi-annual application process. In total, the City contracts with 25 non-profit agencies to provide 32 programs and services. For information and phone numbers on available services, click here. The City of SeaTac provides additional programs to meet the needs of our residents. Please contact the person noted above for information on these programs.
As a member of the South King County Human Services Forum, the City has adopted the South King County Human Services Business Plan, which sets out a strategy for meeting the top five human services needs for the region as identified by United Way of King County.
