Station Area Planning

Station Area Action Plans

In 2006, the City adopted the SeaTac/Airport Station Area Action Plan and the S. 154th St. Station Area Action Plan.  These plans envision new commercial and residential districts in the areas adjacent to Sound Transit's SeaTac/Airport and Tukwila International Blvd. (S. 154th St.) Link Light Rail stations.

Extended S. 154th St. Station Area Proposed Rezones

As part of the City’s efforts to encourage the redevelopment of communities within and near the S. 154th St. Station Area, the City changed certain Comprehensive Plan Land Use Map designations in 2006.  These changes allow for some properties in the area to be rezoned to accommodate higher commercial and residential densities.

The City is currently working with the community  to determine how best to carry out the proposed rezones in the area. Further information can be can be found on the  Extended S. 154th St. Station Area Rezone Process page.
